Every founder I talk to has the same day. Inbox, team questions, a vendor, a fire — and by evening, the three calls that would actually have made money didn't happen.
I had that day for years. Three businesses made it worse: whichever one was loudest got me, and the quiet one with the warm leads got nothing.
So I stopped trusting myself to "find time" for revenue. I gave it an hour.
The rule
10:00 to 11:00, Monday to Friday. Calls, WhatsApp and email only. No building, no slides, no "quickly checking" the ad account. If it doesn't move a rupee toward the business this week, it waits until 11.
One business per day
The trick that made it work: each day belongs to one business, so I walk in knowing exactly what to do.
| Day | Business | What happens in the hour |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | The academy | New ad leads called, counselling follow-ups, anyone who went quiet after a demo |
| Tuesday | Renewals & repeat customers | Everyone due to renew in the next 30 days, called before they lapse |
| Wednesday | The agency | 5 new outreach messages + 5 follow-ups → aim for 1 discovery call |
| Thursday | Commerce | Open orders, marketplace issues, quotes waiting on a reply |
| Friday | All of them | Pipeline review → pick next week's top 5 calls |
Friday matters most. It turns a week of activity into a list of five names for Monday morning.
The part AI does
I don't build the call list during the hour — that would eat it. An agent prepares it before I sit down: today's leads, who replied, who went quiet, and a drafted first message for each. I edit and send. Nothing goes to a customer without my yes.
That's the difference between an hour of calls and an hour of getting ready to call.
Copy this for your business
- Pick the hour when you're sharpest and nobody needs you. Put it in the calendar as a meeting with yourself.
- Give each weekday one revenue stream. If you have one business, split by stage instead: new leads / follow-ups / renewals / referrals / pipeline review.
- Write the rule on the event: "Calls, WhatsApp, email. Nothing else."
- Prepare the list the day before — by hand at first, then automate it.
- Friday: choose five names for Monday. Not ten. Five you'll actually call.
What changed
Not my motivation. My default. Revenue work stopped competing with everything else, because it no longer had to win a fight for my attention — it already had a slot.
